“A-Frame” is carved from Siberian Light Green Jade with a contrasting finish and hand-carved accent bead. Matching slider beads for adjusting length of the black nylon cord.

Note from the Artist: Since I was 12 years old, I’ve been hooked on the beauty and complexity of ocean - explored mostly through swimming, diving, and above all - surfing. In surfing, an “a-frame” is what we call a wave that breaks from the middle, forming both a left and a right break (one side is breaking from right to left and the other, from left to right). This phenomena usually occurs over a shallow sand or reef bottom. This design was inspired by that phenomena.

This jade is a Siberian nephrite that is very vibrant, translucent and consistent. My grandfather acquired this jade over 10 years ago from an unknown seller at the Tucson Gem Show. This hollow form highlights the jade’s electric color and the light plays on the piece perfectly, contrasting it’s high gloss finish on the outside with it’s soft matte finish on the inside.
